OPHIUCHUS started somewhere in the nineties. Inspired by nineties black metal, the aim was to combine black metal with more electronic/avant garde sounds. Various trips where made to the studio between 1996 and 1998 resulting in the first release "I am, Thou art, They will".

Released in 2010 as a limited A5 digisleeve 6 panels CD by (now defunct) 'Le crépuscule du soir' label.

Dans Invicta, Theophonos reprend une formule qu'il maîtrise bien : un black metal furieux s'inspirant de thèmes antiques grecs qui aura vite fait de perdre la personne inattentive. Mais en même temps, il sait comment changer cette formule — et il ne fait vraiment pas semblant — puisque cet album est en grande partie instrumental. Theophonos, en vrai virtuose, a l'audace de créer une ouverture de 14 minutes qui passe comme un ouragan. Comme quoi, le titre de l'album ne ment pas : il est invaincu. Jordan Vauvert

Habituellement, j'écris mon commentaire dans la foulée une fois que j'ai terminé tel ou tel album mais là... J'ai vraiment besoin de quelques minutes, pour reprendre mes esprits. Parce que Serpent Column a totalement perdu le sien dans Endless Detainment. Cet E.P., c'est un cataclysme de black/death metal cacophonique et hystérique qui tient sur vingt-et-une minutes et qui ne s'arrête jamais — au point de s'achever avec un fade out. Tout tient ensemble grâce à un sens de la technique inhumain ! Jordan Vauvert
